We would like to introduce ourselves…
To learn more about Marion or Judy's professional path, we would like to refer you to our Linkedin page.
I first met Marion at the Richmond, Indiana Burger King in 1972, where I just happened to be there and saw
my cousin Jeff, which was a friend of Marion’s. Marion was a student at Richmond High School and I was a
student at Northmont School of Englewood. Later I moved to Richmond and got a part-time after school job at MCL
Cafeteria where my cousin and Marion both worked. The rest is history – we were married May 9, 1974 and now
have three children and one grandchild and other grandchildren on the way.
My last child Angie is a recent high school
graduate. So you see, for the most part, I stayed at home and raised my children, but worked odd jobs.
Later, once the children got older I worked for five years at Reid Hospital in the Emergency Room as a
Transporter until 1998. Then in 1998, a tragic wreck altered my life’s course. A 16 year old boy hit me
from behind. He had just been issued his drivers licenses. I no longer could do the work at Reid Hospital,
which required a lot of walking. Fortunately the Ohio BVR system paid for me to attend college. I
graduated from Miami Valley Career Technology Center in Trotwood, OH, with a certificate in
Accounting.
After graduation, I got a job at D and J Homes in Richmond, Indiana in 1999. There I manage over $6 million
in assets. I do the bookkeeping for the homes that Jerry Jennings sells on seller financing and this also
includes the client accounts receivables. As always, in the credit world, some people do not pay; and I have
gained extensive knowledge and experience in collecting delinquent accounts.
All the meanwhile, Marion was pursuing a BS degree in accounting, and in 2009, he also completed a master’s
degree in public administration.
All during this time both, my husband and I had been sharing a service to our friends. We became members
back in 2001 of Pre-Paid Legal Services, Inc. This service is a membership that allows members access to the
legal system. Often during these years we have picked up the phone and spoken to our attorney about many
issues. For years, both of us have shown the service to friends. If they become members, we would get paid. We
think of it as a referral fee. The money we would make from sharing the service has more than paid our $17 a
month membership. However, in 2009 we began to reexamine how this service would help business owners; so now I
offer business owners a free listing in a national publication if they let me show them the member
benefits.
The more we have looked at the member benefits, the more we saw how it will help some business owners.
Marion kept bringing up his desire to help small business owners improve the running of their business. He is
like me in that he wants to help the small business owner grow their business and learn more about keeping more
of that money in their bank account. I decided I would tie all of these skills together; and put them to work
helping small business owners grow their business.
Marion had changed jobs and is now working in Fairfield, which is almost an hour drive from Eaton. Would we
move – probably yes? What would this do for me since I still worked in Richmond? My employer is excellent. He
said we would work something out. In this mindset, the thoughts of becoming a free lance bookkeeper started
becoming more and more the route to go.
Marion has had an interest in web page design since 1998, where he developed www. Richmond Indiana dotcom.
Our son, Mark shared with us that since both his mom and dad knew so much about how small businesses works;
that we should focus on helping small business owners bring their business online.
“What I Need Is A Webpage” dotcom was born.
My goal is to help your business prosper. That might mean that I can help you by setting up a bookkeeping
system where you do most of the work, and I guide you through the questions you have and provide the answers
–OR- it might mean that you want to turn it over and have it all done. The short version of About Us: We are
honest, hard working and would like to help you grow your business. Good consultation, improved accounting
systems and improved marketing is the place to start and I’d love to help.
Sincerely,
Judy Rhodus
